DESCRIPTION:\nWe are excited to be able to announce a brand new partnership with the University of Birmingham in association with Access Sport ( https://www.accesssport.org.uk/birmingham ) and Sport Birmingham.\nAccess Sport is committed to bringing the benefits of community sport to underserved communities in Birmingham by training, equipping and supporting community sports clubs and expanding access to inclusive sports across the city.\nSport Birmingham is a charity that recognises that the power of sport and physical activity goes beyond just physical health and wellbeing. Sport Birmingham also aim to collate and share best practice in disability equality across the city, working to increase opportunities for disabled people to access physical activity and sport.\nAs you can imagine, therefore, we are really looking forward to our first ever Birmingham PowerHouseGames!!\nThe event will take place on Friday the 28th November 2025 at the University of Birmingham Sport and Fitness Centre. Our sponsors will have a fantastic morning providing volunteers to be team captains, leading the students through the games and learning lots too about the fun of inclusion and community cohesion. It’s going to be great fun.\n\nWe have yet to announce which schools will be joining us on the day so if your school would like to be part of this fantastic event please get in touch ( https://www.power2inspire.org.uk/contact-us/ ). We bring together students from primary and secondary schools in the state and private sector as well as a special needs school who will join the volunteers in playing inclusive and adapted games such as boccia, new age kurling, and sitting netball. Twelve teams of six will play in colourful T-shirts, learning about inclusion, community cohesion and teamwork.\n\nWe are also looking for a corporate sponsor for the event. A sponsor will provide volunteers to be team captains, leading the students through the games and learning lots too about the fun of inclusion and community cohesion.
