Paralympic Week 2018 at Quilters Junior School

In conjunction with Active Essex, Power to Inspire helped to host the Quilters Paralympic Week 2018 at Quilter Junior School in Billericay, Essex.

Pupils enjoyed:

  • Visually Impaired Football
  • Lacrosse
  • Seated Volleyball
  • New Age Kurling
  • Walking football
  • Walking Netball
  • and 246 pupils ran the ‘John Willis Mile’!

It was wonderful to see the children trying new sports with such enthusiasm.

162 parents and grandparents also took part with their children in the afternoons! Pupils got to meet a whole host of Paralympic Athletes including Laura Sugar and Anne Wafula-Strike MBE. The feedback was fantastic and Quilters pupils learned this week that the only limits you have are those you put on yourself!

One pupil said: “Next time a voice in my head says ‘I can’t’ I’m going to think about Paralympic Week and remind myself that I can!”

One parent said : “We are very lucky to have such inspirational people in our school this week, both my boys have absolutely loved it and have learned so much. Thanks to everyone involved”
