Games2Inspire at St Peter's Catholic Primary School

St Ursula’s Catholic Primary School Year 5’s were buzzing with energy and excitement during the recent Games2Inspire event, which brought students together for an unforgettable day of inclusive sports and teamwork.

To start the day, the entire Year 5 cohort gathered for a special assembly, where they reflected on inclusion and heard from Founder and Chief Ambassador, John Willis.

Following this, the Games2Inspire event featured four engaging games, including a lively session of sitting netball that encouraged collaboration and adaptability among participants. Students of all abilities joined in, showcasing their skills and having a fantastic time while learning the value of teamwork and inclusion.

Caroline Hall, head of Year 5, said:

“It was an absolute pleasure having you visit our school and share your inspirational story with us. We had such an amazing experience with so much fun and many thought-provoking messages. We are truly grateful that you were able to take the time to drive all the way from Cambridge to visit us.”

The Games2Inspire event was more than just sports; it was an opportunity to celebrate community, inclusion, and the joy of participating together. St Ursula’s students left with smiles, newfound confidence, and valuable life lessons about the importance of kindness and adaptability.

What are Games2Inspire?

Games2Inspire events are incredible events, most often hosted in schools, with an assembly and sports day which includes activities designed to be accessible and fun for everyone, with disabilities and none, sporty and not. Participants get to meet our inspirational founder, John Willis, and hear all about how John has overcome obstacles in his life. They then get to put that learning to practice by playing adapted games and sports together learning new skills and being encouraged to test their beliefs about ability and disability and what it is to be different, learning to respect other people’s differences. Power2Inspire works with them to challenge their assumptions of what they can and cannot do.
